The Seven Pillars - August 1, 2012

Sorry, but I've been busy and away for a while. Anyway, I'll try to make up for my absence with two posts tonight. First, The Seven Pillars:

The Seven Pillars (click here:) http://indianapolis-indiana.funcityfinder.com/2010/07/11/seven-pillars-of-the-mississinewa-in-peru-indiana/

Usually, we ride along Francis Slocum Trail up north to IN 124 and then west to Peru. We've passed the sign that locates the Seven Pillars but since it's on top of them, you can't see anything. Larry Burke suggested we ride back along the Mississinewa River, on the south side, and we could look at the Seven Pillars from across the river. Which we did. However, first, we rode up IN 15 through the fresh chip-seal, north of Wabash, to the Red Rose Cafe at the junction of IN 15 and IN 114. After lunch, we rode back south through the covered bridge at Roann, and on south to the Seven Pillars, and home. We decided to make a short day of it, as the temperatures were climbing into the nineties.

Here are a few pictures of The Seven Pillars from E 200 S on the south side of the river:

Riding today were Art Adrianson, Larry Miller, Merle Combs, Larry Burke, and myself, Larry Davis.

I rode 124 miles today and the weather was nice.
